I am getting the following error when click run form in Forms Builder toolbar for OracleDeveloperSuite10g

The requested URL could not be retrieved

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

While trying to retrieve the URL: http://hostname:8889/forms90/f90servlet

The following error was encountered:

Unable to determine IP address from host name for hostname
The dnsserver returned:

DNS Domain 'hostname' is invalid: Host not found (authoritative).
This means that:

The cache was not able to resolve the hostname presented in the URL.
Check if the address is correct.

I think you have not started the OC4J instance. You can find it in the Developer programs somewhere. Named "Start OC4J engine".

Can you get the Oracle provided 'test' form to work?

New problem:

When I run the form I have created straight away a box appears
with a red bell on it saying 'Please acknowledge message'. The only option given is OK.
This happens again in execute query mode and when moving
between records. I can't find any information on this. How do I get rid of it?
put on-error, on-message as null but is not solution

what's the problem?

Is it just a simple, noncomplex form? With no extra trigers anywhere?

In that case it can be an error message that is not visible as a whole.

If it is a complex with a POST-QUERY look up or something (well somewhat complex anyway) then this look up do not get any result to present.
