when i run a form at the form builder ,it alerts the following error:
FRM-10142: The HTTP listener is not running on (server-name) at port 8888

the oracle server9i and the developer software9i are at the same machine.
i made a net service name at the developer such that protocot: tcp/ip , host name: server-name(this machine name) ,port number: 1521

what else i have to do to run the form ? plz help....... thanks alot.

I guess you first installed the database, and then the Developer Suite. This might work, but doesn't have to; won't cost much to try, though ... copy TNSNAMES.ORA, SQLNET.ORA and LISTENER.ORA from the \database_directory\network\admin to \developer_directory\network\admin and see will it do any good. Don't forget to create backup copies of the original files before you overwrite them!

I suggest you use the IFILE notation: Just let the TNSNAMES.ORA of your Developer Suite point to the TNSNAMES.ORA of your Database Oracle home. That way, your TNSNAMES files are always alligned.

...just thought of it: Have you started your OC4J instance? It's right there, in the Start menu, next to the Forms builder.
