Hi,
the host call within forms shows its result on the server and not in the calling browser (e.g. host('ls ||more')in unix environment). Also I want to start a sql session using prompts on the server, which therefore needs user interaction within the browser. Is there a way to show the result in a browser window? Perhaps web.show_document?
regards.

Hi, I am using forms 10.1.2. How does this feature work? Calling simply host('ls |more') will try to output on the server (which does not work) I will need to see the result in a browser window, because in fact I want to start a sql script located on the server like "select * from emp where ename = '&name'"

Have you solved your problem?

Search this forum for 'client_host' (which is a feature of webutil/web_util).
