Hi!

I am currently converting my PL/SQL scripts with UTL_FILE in forms and I have encountered a 'FILE_TYPE Invalid Identifier ' message when I compiled it.

When I was executing the same scripts, no problem was encountered.

May I ask,
a. Is there a difference between running the UTL_FILE in SQL prompt and running the UTL_FILE in forms?
b. What would I do to execute the UTL_FILE in oracle forms.

The UTL directory existed in our server and I really can't figure out why the same scripts can't run in oracle forms.

Thanks. Hope you can help me with this.

Marge

Are you using the same userid for both SQL*Plus and Forms?
